Pharmacist In-Charge (PIC)
This is what it takes to be a PIC at Texan
- Compound and dispense medications as per physician’s prescriptions.
- Perform prospective Drug Utilization, review new and refilled prescriptions for allergies, medication adherence, drug interactions and therapeutic duplication for safe and effective medication administration.
- Counsel patients about medications and side effects. Compound non-sterile customized medication preparation of ointments and creams as per physician’s instructions.
- Ensure proper precautions and security measures while handling control medications by complying with federal and state regulations.
- Advise patients on prescriptions and non-prescription medications.
- Advise patients about drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Order and monitor supply of drugs.
- Maintain and run pharmacy premises in accordance to state and federal laws and regulation.
- Use Micro-Merchant pharmacy software.
- Supervise one Pharmacy Technician and one Technician Trainee.
Bachelor's Degree is required in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Science or Pharmaceutics or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
Pharmacy Technician (PT)
This is what it takes to be a PIC at Texan
- Assist pharmacists in preparing medications as per doctor’s instructions.
- Enter and process prescriptions with accuracy and patient safety in mind.
- Support patient counseling by gathering information and answering queries.
- Compound non-sterile preparations under licensed pharmacist supervision.
- Follow safety standards and compliance protocols while handling meds.
- Help maintain inventory by tracking stock levels and placing drug orders.
- Handle insurance claims, copay questions, and third-party rejections.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and regulation-compliant pharmacy space.
- Operate Micro-Merchant system for processing and patient management.
- Work alongside Pharmacist and assist with technician trainee tasks.
High School Diploma is required. Pharmacy Technician Certification is preferred.
Pharmacy Frontdesk (PFd.)
This is what it takes to be a PFd. at Texan
-Welcome patients and customers with a friendly, professional attitude and serve as the first point of contact for the pharmacy.
-Receive prescription drop-offs and assist with prescription pick-ups while ensuring patient details are accurate and complete.
-Answer incoming phone calls, address basic patient inquiries, and route calls to pharmacists or technicians when required.
-Enter and update patient information, prescription details, and documentation accurately in PrimeRx (Micro Merchant) pharmacy software.
-Collect payments, process copays, and handle cash/card transactions in compliance with pharmacy policies.
-Assist patients with refill requests, prescription status updates, and general pharmacy-related questions.
-Support insurance-related tasks such as collecting insurance information and directing billing or claim issues to the appropriate team member.
-Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations at all times.
-Coordinate smoothly with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient workflow and reduced wait times.
-Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk and waiting area.
-Assist with filing, scanning, and maintaining pharmacy records as needed.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
-High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
-Strong communication and customer service skills
